The Transitus of St. Francis of Assisi & Oblates of the Last Martyrdom

Dear Members & Friends of Transitus,

Today is an exciting day for Transitus Oblates of the Last Martyrdom, as this evening we celebrate the Transitus of St. Francis of Assisi - the passing of his soul from this life to eternity - on the eve of the feastday of our patron (October 4). It is also the occasion on which certain members are admitted into Transitus as well as an opportunity for all members to recommit themselves to the life of monks according the Transitus Rule and "School of Perfection" either as a Postulant, Novice, Guest, or fully admitted Oblate.

Due to the newness of our association, there will be no public ceremony this year, but all members will be provided (via e-mail and online) a simple ceremony for celebrating the Transitus of St. Francis with a rite of admission and ongoing commitment - the Act of Oblation to Divine Merciful Love. Members - and even friends of Transitus - are encouraged to celebrate the rite and to make their commitment in private or with family and friends, either at home or at their local church or monastery, this evening before the feast of St Francis of Assisi (when it is normally celebrated) or when it is convenient for them.

Today I will also be posting our October Bulletin, re-releasing Letter from the Superior General #5 "By His Wounds We Are Healed", contacting members regarding their status in Transitus and - from this moment on - opening the doors of membership to those who have expressed interest in Transitus over the last two years - Catholic and non-Catholic.

I thank you again for your participation, your patience, and most importantly your prayers. May God the Holy Trinity bless us on this day of "pass over", and may our patrons St. Francis - the "Little Poor Man" of Assisi, St. Therese - the "Little Flower" of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, Our Mother of Perpetual Help - "the refuge and the hope of sinners", and Our Lord Jesus Christ - Eternal and Sovereign High Priest and King, pray for us!

"We adore You, Lord Jesus Christ, here and in all your churches in the whole world, and we bless You. Because by your holy cross You have redeemed the world."

Your unworthy servant,
Francis Bernadette, Superior General and fellow Transitus Oblate
